The last whisper

Hello everyone, today I’ll write my last post of the year.

This is my final course of English in the University; I like this subject because the English is very important for my future job and my life. The use of blogs was a good experience for improve my grammatical and express my ideas in English. However my “listening” is a little bad but I practice “listening” five days at the week. I will see videos and listen more conversations in English for improve this in the future not far away. I need improve my grammatical as well, but I can improve with the time and more practice.

Outside the English class, I use the English a lot of times, because I play video games in English, I have reading papers of the university in English, I see streaming online ( of video games and the commentators are speaking English. Also the music that I listen is generally in English and the series in TV as well.

In the present the English is everywhere, the TV, Internet, scientific information, etc. Therefore the English is very important for my life, because I use English every day a lot of time in my free time and in the University.  In the future the English will very important and necessary for my jobs and investigations that I’ll realize.

I hope that in the Future not far away, I learn to talk, written, and listen English very well at 100% in all of field for understand completely the games that I playing, see series perfectly and not use subtitles for understand. Maybe one day I’ll travel for the world and I must need English a lot to communicate with the people.

Evaluation of 2014

Hi today I’ll do an evaluation of my 2014 so far.

The first semester was a little bad because I fail a course in the University, I don’t organized my time very well. In that  time I was a little unmotivated that  time lasted one month however in the final of the first semester returned the motivation to me and I start studied and go to class regularly. In the second semester I proposed studying more for an exam and don’t fail any course.

So far this second semester has been good. However, I’m bored of the routine, for this in the last part of 2014 I will do exercises in my free time and out sometimes to parks, hills or simply out for walking.

In this 2014 with my family we want move, because this house not is completely of us, but not yet we found a house that like it all of us. I hope we moved in anytime of 2015. Besides I will like have a good vacation at end of the year, but I don’t save much money then I will should save a lot of money in the next year for have a good holiday in the 2015.

My achievements have been little, but I don’t have many achievements to obtain. I don’t propose specific achievements at end of the year only I propose a good year in the studies, health and money.

Facebook!

Hello, today I will talk about facebook.

I use Facebook for communicate with my friends also to talk with my mates the university about homeworks, reports, etc. Facebook be used for talk with my family, see some news and see popular videos of any kind. These are some positive aspects of Facebook, but the negative aspects of Facebook are:

-The people have a spend lot of time in the computer only seeing Facebook, and playing the video games that found on the page,  and this repeat in all week, because of this,  Facebook becomes a routine.

- Some kids suffer bullyng in the internet and abuses of the people, this is called “grooming”.

However not all is bad, Facebook has be used for found old friends or talk with distant relatives without a “cost”, but you should have a connection of Internet.

I personally started use Facebook for talk with my friends but with the time I don’t found much importance, because I could chat with my friends from my cell phone without Facebook, through “Whatsapp”. At the present I use facebook for make a homeworks and reports with my mates of the university. Occasionally playing some video games and see videos, I prefer see videos in Youtube and play video games better in my computer.  Sometimes I notice about news important in the worlds or news of pages that I follow in Facebook.

Enviroment

Hi, today I will talk about environment, particularly environmentally friendly practices.

In Chile is difficult to recycle because not have many places to go to leave their things and also because the people don’t have much information about recycle. Furthermore not all people know that materials can be recycling. In Chile the government should make more campaigns for inform about recycle and their benefits.

In my case, in La Florida, every Saturday a truck go to take the recycle of the people like a trash car, but of the recycle. This method is implemented since I have 12 years old, and my parents started to recycle to care the environment and I like this, with 12 years old I enjoyed pick up materials to recycle.  Actually I thank you very much to my parents that started to recycle, because I was took conscience of care of the environment.

On other hand I don’t have a car but if I have a car someday, I will prefer walk or use a bike to mobilizing in short or medium distances in the city, because is most friendly with the environment and funny. In the present I don’t support to any eco-organizations, because I don’t found any eco-organizations that of take my attention, but maybe I will support any in the future or help some eco-organizations. Also I reduced my footprint using metro instead bus, don’t spend electricity and water unnecessarily.

Genetic modification

Hello, I’m back again.

I hope you had a very good week of holidays. 

Today I will talk about of GMO (genetically modified organism).

Gen is defined like a group of segments of DNA, that contains information of an organism and this information allows expression of a specific characteristic.

The GMOs are organism whose genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering techniques. In the present can be modified plants, bacteria, insects, fish even mammals.  Basically consist in modify their genes, this include the mutation, insertion or deletion of genes for the purpose improve the organism. This is used generally in the agriculture for improve the fruits and vegetables. In forestry can be used for improve the characteristic of the trees.

The genetic modification can be harmful for some organisms and should be studied and experimented in one organism before of applies in the species in the field. Also In the agriculture when modified edible products, the Scientifics should be studied if that “modified food” can be edible without any problem for the health of the people.

However, the genetic modification can be useful in my field of study because we can better trees with better characteristic therefore, a better forest and better ecosystem. All this with their respective experiments and studies before apply.

My future job?

Hi there, today I will talk about of my possible future job.

In the secondary school I wanted study civil engineering, but in the last year of school I have a lot of outing at hills, parks, etc. And, I say me: “this is my future”, the nature I like it, and then I was changing the priority for study Forestry before ending the school.

I don’t know specifically what job I will have in the future, but I know that job will be related with conservation. I don’t like work in an office, I like work in the outdoors, because I feel “freedom” and I can view the forest and your ecosystem by my own eyes.  For this reason I would like travel for all Chile, specifically south of Chile and the countries with have important forest for learning about of the many species and forests around the world. I will like also travel to Madagascar for study the many species found in this island. Maybe take a major after end of my pre-grade in the university, I prefer work a pair of years before take a major, for have a little experience in the field of my career. And to choice a better option of major.

Animals and pets

Hello everyone, today I will talk about the animals.

When I was eight years old, I saw a documentary about the “Isla de Pascua” (Rapa Nui), which showed how you can dive with turtles in this island; even some people touched the turtles.  From this day on I like the turtles and some reptiles as iguanas and geckos, but never I had pets in my house. However, someday I will have sea turtles, I don’t have pets as dogs or cats, because they drop a lot of hair then the clothes and the house will have remains of hair, my mother don’t like this. Furthermore, when I was five years old my uncle had a dog, in the moment to fed the dog when I had food in my hand, the dog bite me, from this day go on I have some fear the dogs. Not all dogs, few only, when I go to in the street alone.

When have child in the house, some pets are dangerous, any pet can reaction aggressive as some species of dogs, cats, etc. If you have kids and aggressive pets, be very careful. On the other hand, the pets can improve mood and health, the kids plays with the pets and you live alone the house don’t feel alone.

Besides I like the turtles “domestic”, because live approximately over 30 years with a correctly care, and the turtles will stay with me during much time.

The best concert

Hi everyone today I will talk about the best concert I went.

I will saw “La Renga”, is a rock band of argentine, formed in 1988. Integrated for four people, one is lead vocals and plays lead guitar; other plays bass guitar; other drums and the last person plays saxophone and harmonica. This concert it was in October 19, 2012 in the Teatro Caupolicán. I went with a friend of school. My cousin presented me this band in the year 2008, when I was fourteen years old.

I arrive at theatre with my friend one hour before start the concert. The band delayed for one hour in arrive but, in the concert was a warm atmosphere of the people, spite of half argentine people and half Chilean people there. All people singing the songs and enjoy of the spectacle. I remember and like it this concert because go on for more two hours approximately, they played twenty-six songs. I and my friend remember this concert as the best we have gone.

I hope will go to much concert in the future.

A conference about the Earth

Hi everyone, today I will talk about a conference of Yann Arthus Bertrand, in this conference he talks about the lot of problems of earth, for example the global warming, exploitation of the nature resource, use of energy not sustainable, the problems of Africa, etc. He shows the problems at the world with photographs. Furthermore, he talks about your film; this film is about of the problems of the earth and possible solutions.

I think that all problems of the earth can be solved, but it takes a time and cooperation of the all people, for example; using renewable energy, reforesting deteriorated areas for recuperation of the soils, establish lays of emission of CO2, etc. 

We need coexist with the nature and maintenance the diversity of the species in the world for the planet can “survive”, but is not possibly without change of the conscience of the people. The work of he is very hard and very important for the “recuperation” the quality of the earth in the time.

Food Forest

Hi everyone today I will talk about the Food Forest. This is a sustainable system based on woodland ecosystems, but incorporating food trees, shrubs, herbs and perennial vegetables which have yields directly useful to humans. These species can intermixed to grow in layer, to build a structure like woodland habitat.

The layers are, from the higher to smallest:  Canopy (large fruit &nut trees), Low three layer (dwarf fruit trees), Shrub layer (currants & berries), Herbaceous (comfreys, beets, herbs), Rhizosphere (root vegetables), Soil surface (ground cover, strawberry, etc) and the Vertical layer (climbers, vines)

This system have a low-maintenance, therefore, is sustainable in the time. Furthermore, provides food and products used on the medicine. In my opinion this system can be used in Chile, on the zones far away the high cities, because required zones without higher deterioration in the start, later the system can be maintenance for yourself.

This system will be good for the people with low resources in the Agricola zones, but use this system in the scientific zone need more investigation.

Experience with a blog

Hi this is the last post in this term and I’ll write about of my experience of using blogs in English class.

In general the experience writing blogs has been very well sometimes exhaustive, but my write skills improve significantly because never did have a blogs, by a long chalk in English. This is my first blog and I feel I did well besides improving my opinion and redaction about a lot of topic.  On the other hand I have known things about my classmates which I did not know.  I feel that I need more study in grammatical of English and read more text for increase this.

I would include more text and opinion about forester topic for increase the vocabulary in ours field besides know scientific papers related with my career, this will support and understand better the class and the text in English about forestry. However I would like write the topic about my hobbies, free time, sports, news in the world, activities out of class. I think that this will help us destress and relax after the class and exams.

I will hope read this post in the future and remember how I gradually progress my reading listening and vocabulary skills in English.

Around the world

Hi today, I’ll write about of the countries I’d like visit in the future.

I like travelling, but I have not had the possibility to travel out of Chile, but if I had the chance of travel, I’d go to England, Norway and Japan.

Tower Bridge, London.

Stave Church, Luster, Norway.

Mount Fiji, Japan

I’d go England because I’m “fan” of tea and in this country you can find different types of tea, besides in their culture the “teatime” is very valued. The city that I most like is London because of the Tower Bridge and buses are very attractive for the tourist.

I like Norway because is a country where snow a lot in the year and their Human Development Index (HDI) is the most high in the world, besides I like the history of the Vikings and in this country existed the Viking culture and the stave church, this is a medieval wooden Christian church, which are very attractive for visit.

Finally I’d go Japan because I like very much their culture and food. Besides I like the “Anime and Manga”, Anime are Japanese animated productions usually featuring hand-drawn or computer animation and the Manga are comics created in Japan.

Also these countries have a variety of national parks very beautiful which I’d will to visit.

I hope travel to these countries someday.

Films

Hi, today I’ll write about films and actors that I like, generally, the world of cinema.

I like the all class of the films, but the genres that most like are action, mystery and epic. My favourite actor is Johnny Depp and my favourite director is Tim Burton, both are from USA and have various years of trajectory. I like Tim Burton because I like combination of 3D animation and real persons in your films, and Johnny Depp because of versatility in your films.

My favourite film is the saga of “Pirates of the Caribbean” which have as the main actor Johnny Deep. I like this film because I like the thematic of pirates and the performance of actors that work in the movie are very good. These films have a combination of action, comedy and fantasy. In addition I like this film because of your epic music composed for Hanz Zimmer which is connects with the thematic very well.

Hello everyone, today I’ll write about the one article related with my career in the university.

In this article published in the magazine “Bosque” allowed in the next link < http://mingaonline.uach.cl/pdf/bosque/v35n1/art02.pdf> talk was about of Structure and dynamics in North Belloto forests (Beilschmiedia miersii) in Cordillera El Melón, Valparaíso Region, Chile.

Beilshmedia miersii, is an endemic tree species of central Chile, is a Natural Monument vulnerable to extinction. In the cordillera “El Melon” allow the most abundant stand of the species, but this places are intervene for anthropogenic activity. This article begin with the study of structure and dynamics the forest of Beilschmiedia miersii. In conclusion In Belloto forests exists a scant regeneration of Beilschmedia miersii, could be the dominating other species in these forests in the future.

This article is helpful for forestry because we can know dynamics of these forest and make better forms of plantation, mangament or care of this trees.

My opinion about the World Soccer Championship 2014

This post will be about the protest against government of Brazil for the world soccer championship 2014.

"The Brazilians have been protesting against the government that is accused of being financing this championship, spending such huge amounts of money in a country that has a lot of other needs: education, hospitals, etc". This is true; the government had priority take about our country development before that the spectacle of soccer. With the money spent for the world soccer championship, could be used for the people most vulnerable of this country, this people live in a zone calls “favelas”, in this zone the delinquency, drug trafficking is highest of the country. The answer of the government about the protest is that the world soccer championship is going to take a lot of tourist for one month, with which help to economy this country, also this is true. But this will help the commerce not a people that lives in the “favelas” or better education for the children. In my opinion the government had a help this people before the spent money for the world soccer championship. If that was the case the country will be development and his quality of life increased permanently and not only one month.

My favourite photograph

This photograph was took for a friend, the photograph show the ceremony of graduation school at ending the period scholarship for ingress afterwards the university, institute or got a job. In the ceremony my band playing music for say goodbye to my teammates. This photograph was it taken in December 2011. I like this photograph because shows the last presentation with my band of music, after the graduation the band was disbanded owing to nothing have a time for the band, the universities studies was impede carry on with the band as well as the distances difficulty join together again. The friendships with them continue until today, but without playing music like a band.  The friend was who took this photograph, in those times was like a manager of the band besides he provide a room for practice ours shows.  I hope someday join together again for playing music like a band, simply like a hobby and entertainment.

Disaster in Valparaiso

Well, today I’ll write about the fire in Valparaiso. The fire begins into the forest, which advanced to the houses near of the place, helped by the strong winds. The fires destroyed many part of forest and almost the total of the houses from place. I think the main reasons that produced all of this tragedy are because of the dry branches into the forest also the irresponsibly of the people because throw cigarette butts, leave burning bonfire or simply for the highest temperature. This can have been prevented with the installing firewall in the houses, early notification a firefighters and more supervised in the forest with respect to throw objects burning into forest.

If I been in charge of this situation, I will evacuate all the people near the place, more fire engine for controlling the fires, open the school, university for the evacuated and the call in military for prevent chaos.

Technology

Hi everyone today I’ll write things about the technology. I think the technology is necessary for studies and in the work especially for an enterprise, because give a help.

My indispensable piece of technology for me is the computer, because without this really find the information being harder. Besides in the computer, I play video games and listen to music in my free time. Other pieces indispensables are the cellular phone and the headsets, the cellular phone give communication with the people in the anywhere the world and the headsets are indispensable for me, because with they I’ll communicate with the other people in to the games through Internet and listen to much music. In addition the  Internet is very important, without Internet find the information and play video games I couldn't make it, because all the information and the games today revolve around the Internet.

Begin a new semester

Expectations for a new semester

This semester I’m coursing five subjects, four are a new subject and one is a subject that I reproved the last year, in this new term, I definitely should approve. About of the new subjects, they are focused on growth and developed of trees, service and products of the forests, characterize ecosystems. In these subjects we view the different components of the forest since a perspective social and environmental. I don’t have taking exracurriculars activities, because I like a much free time for studies and relax. My expectations for a this new academic period are very good, I won’t like taking exams and I will pretend like study very much with much time and don’t one day before.

I think the immigration is important for the relationship within the people, because help us change ideas the people they have about the other cultures. The arrival of foreigners in Chile is good for the commerce due to the many foreigners arrive to Chile for want work, for study or begin a new enterprising work  but exist other foreigners who come to illegally and do bad things in the country, as trafficking of drugs, weapons, etc. I think those things are bad of the immigration. I think that our country is prepared to receive immigrant, but should regularize ingress the outsiders because it can result in the collapse of people in the country.
